I have been running, no I mean really running since I was about 21 years old. It hurts, it feels great. It’s
meaningful, and meaningless- everything and nothing. It’s therapeutic and relaxing but sometimes it
makes me wanna hurt people (you know in a friendly lesson-teaching kind of
way).
All that being said, I love it. I have no idea what I’d do
without it.
But I have learned a few things from it. And I figured this
week I could take a page out of Mr. Letterman's book, and count down the top
ten things I’ve learned from running…
(See now you get the title, right?)
10. The big dogs are never a problem. The small dogs are the
ones you gotta watch out for.
9. Cyclists are elitist assholes.*
8. The logos on your shoes don’t make you run faster.
7. Running faster makes you run faster.
6. Hill workouts are like the sit-ups of cardio training.
5. If you have to ask “Do you think I need to replace these
shoes?” – it’s probably time to replace your shoes.
4. No one in a car is watching out for you. Lately, they
seem to barely be watching the road.
3. Runners are stubborn, persistent, goal-oriented, overachievers.
And it’s awesome. J
2. Runner’s may fall down, but they always get back up.
1. Running = freedom
Well there you have it! What have you learned from running?
*This could’ve easily been written as “elitists are cyclist
assholes” as well.
